About CB:

Citizens' Band radio (CB) is a system of short-distance simplex radio communications between individuals on a selection of 40 channels within the 27-MHz, 11 band. Maximum output power 4W FM / 1W AM EIRP.
Generally speaking range for a mobile CB Radio could be anywhere from +/- 6km, to even +/-15 km or more, depending on the terrain, type of antennas used, & other factors.
All frequencies are affected by charged ions in the ionosphere so CB operators in favourable circumstances can communicate across thousands of miles.
Channel 9 is reserved for emergency calls, so it is forbidden for general use.
Channel 14 AM is used by CB 100mw walkie talkies.
On channel 22, which is used by romanian truck drivers, you can get useful traffic and any other road information etc.
